Abstract
Non-communicable diseases are the silent killer of humans, responsible for nearly three-quarters of deaths globally each year. Many risk factors for NCDs are modifiable. Therefore, prevention is also highly feasible. Currently, non-communicable diseases are the main challenge in the health system. Risk factor management requires a strategy with many facets and levels, from individual, community to national, international. Many experts commented: "The consequences of infectious diseases in the 20th century are what we have to deal with non-communicable diseases in the 21st century" and "Non-communicable diseases: the goal of medicine of this 21st century!”
