Abstract

Method: In this cross sectional analytical study a total of 147 diabetes type 2 mellitus patients with chronic kidney disease stage 3 – 5 who are hospitalized for hypoglycemia or hypolycemia in duration of inpatient treatment in Hanoi national of endrocrinology hospital. Results: There was no relationship between age, duration of diabetes with asymptomatic hypoglycemia. Prehistoric of severe hypoglycemia, recurrent hypoglycemia increased the risk of asymptomatic hypoglycemia respectively with OR = 1,574, p = 0,028 and OR = 1,645, p = 0,013; eGFR < 30 ml/min rose by 2,207 times the risk of asymptomatic hypoglycemia compared to eGFR ≥30 ml/min with p = 0,001. The risk of asymptomatic hypoglycemia was grown by 1.692 times in BMI < 23 group compared to BMI ≥ 23 group with p = 0,009. Conclusion: Prehistoric of severe hypoglycemia, recurrent hypoglycemia, BMI < 23, eGFR < 30 ml/ min are independent factors for asymptomatic hypoglycemia.
