Abstract
Objective: To evaluate of self-insulin injection practice of type 2 diabetes outpatient at the National Hospital of Endocrinology. To determine factors related to insulin self-injection practice of outpatients. Subjects and methods: 250 Type 2 Diabetes Outpatient Treatment in On-Demand Clinic, National Hospital of Endocrinology. Research subjects: Interview with awareness questions about self-administration of insulin, treatment costs, ITAS score. Methodology: Cross- sectional. Results: Male 62.8%, 40- 60 years old 37.6%, urban area 68%. 34% Patients with diabetes ≥ 15 years. Psychology Patients are afraid of hypoglycemia 83.2%, feel that they have failed in treatment with diet and pills 80%, 69.6% of patients feel the disease is getting worse, 58% of patients are difficult to correctly identify. Patients ≥ 70 years old have a higher proportion of psychological factors than Patients under 40 years old. The group of patients with disease duration ≥ 15 years accounted for the highest rate of 76.5%. Conclusions: Psychology and practical knowledge about insulin are factors that greatly affect the treatment outcome and quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes.
