Abstract
Objective: To assess patient's quality of life after surgery for thyroid cancer and some related factors at Thai Nguyen Cancer Center. Methods: Proceeding, Descriptive, Cross sectional study design. Results: Quality of life of patients after surgery for thyroid cancer has an overall score (41,11 ± 10,57); quality of life in terms of other activity preferences (51,11 ± 16,77); physical quality of life (33,78 ± 22,96). accompanying symptoms that affect quality of life but are not significant: affect sleep (33,33 ± 22,93); fatigue (20,37 ± 14,09); pain (21,11 ± 16,51). The total score for social support was (52,47 ± 15,50), in which: support from family (17,87 ± 6,67) and support from friends (17,87 ± 4,13). A patient's quality of life after surgery for thyroid cancer was positively associated with support from family and friends (p <0,05). Conclusion: Through this study, it is possible for doctors to adjust clinical interventions related to social support for cancer patients based on specific needs, and the positive social interactions are related to Higher quality of life and high-quality personal relationships are associated with better survival, contributing to improved quality of life for cancer patients.
