Abstract
Background: Screening for hypertension in the community under the May measurement month program is adequate. Research objective: Determine the prevalence and some factors related to hypertension in adults in Can Tho City in 2022. Research subjects and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 1000 adults over 18 years old in Can Tho city. Results: The proportion of hypertension was 27.7%, the proportion of patients with untreated hypertension was 0.9%, of which grade 1 hypertension was 0.8% and grade 2 hypertension was 0.1%, and the proportion of pre-hypertension was 25.8%. There was an association between cardiovascular diseases (coronary artery disease, stroke, heart failure, atrial fibrillation) and a smoking history with hypertension (p<0.05). Conclusion: The rate of hypertension through the May screening program to measure blood pressure in Can Tho is relatively high.>
