Abstract

Infection with COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease -2019) is a big challenge for patients with diabetes, there are 2 challenges: Firstly, diabetes is recognized as a high risk factor for exacerbating the severity of COVID-19 infection. Second, optimal glycemic control of diabetics in COVID-19 patients during this time is quite difficult. Maintain blood glucose between 6 and 10 mmol/L (tolerable < 12 mmol/L) in diabetic patients with COVID-19. Measure capillary blood glucose 4 times/day before insulin injections (before breakfast- lunch - dinner and at bedtime) and when hypoglycemia is suspected.
