Abstract
Aim: To study the rate of paraclinical manifestations in patients having thyroiditis detected by ultrasound. Methods: Descriptive study on 34 thyroiditis patients detected by ultrasound, who have done the test of thyroid functions, thyroid anti-bodies from 2018 to 2019 at An Sinh hospital. Results: Thyroiditis patients detected by ultrasound have paraclinical manifestations:
1/Thyroid functions:
_ Normal thyroid function
20/34
At the rate 58,8%.
_ Thyroid dysfunction:
14/34
At the rate 41,2%.
Hypothyroidism
9/34
At the rate 24,7%.
+ Subclinical hypothyroidism:
3/34
At the rate 8,8%.
+ Overt hypothyroidism:
6/34
At the rate 17,6%.
Hyperthyroidism:
5/34
At the rate 14,7%.
+ Subclinical hyperthyroidism:
2/34
At the rate 5,9%.
+ Overt hyperthyroidism:
3/34
At the rate 8,8%.
2/Positive thyroid antibody.
Positive anti-TPO
29/34
At the rate
85,3%
Positive Anti-Tg
26/34
At the rate
76,5%
Conclusions: Ultrasound has high value in thyroiditis diagnosis, thyroid antibody tests help to confirm Hashimoto more strongly. Thyroid functions of these patients may be normal or may have hypothyroidism. In the case of hyperthyroidism, patients need to have TSI test to rule out false hyperthyroidism.
