Abstract
Objectives: Survey of flow mediated dilatation (FMD) of arm arteries and relationship with cardiovascular risk level in patient with typ 2 diabetes. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional study on 115 adult outpatients and inpatients in Bac Ninh hospital diagnosed with typ 2 diabetes, from March 2022 to the end of July 2022. Research subjects were taken history, clinical examination, laboratory tests were performed and FMD measurements were performed in the arm arteries. Results: The study subjects have an everage age of 64.7 ± 7.5; Male proportion accounted for 56.9%. Mean FMD in type 2 diabetic patients was 7.85 ± 2.64%, the lowest FMD was 2.44%. The highest FMD was 12.90%. 46.2% of patients with type 2 diabetes had an FMD reduction. FMD in patients with very high cardiovascular risk(6.51 ± 2.04%) is lower than FMD in patients with high cardiovascular risk(9.08 ± 2.55%), p<0.05. Those patients with smoke, obesity, dyslipidemia, renal damage had significantly reduced FMD with p<0.05. Conclusion: Mean FMD was 7.85 ± 2.64%, the lowest FMD was 2.44%, the highest FMD was 12.90% in typ 2 diabetic patients at Bac Ninh hospital. FMD in patients with very high cardiovascular risk is lower than FMD in patients with high cardiovascular risk. Some cardiovascular risk factors: smoking, obesity, dyslipidemia, renal damage had significantly reduced FMD.
