Abstract
Nodular goiter is common, which is mainly diagnosed by thyroid ultrasonography. There are 4 types of nodular goiter, including: nontoxic solitary nodular goiter, nontoxic multinodular goiter, toxic adenoma and multinodular goiter. Fine- needle aspiration biopsy is performed on all nodules larger than 1cm (in patients with normal plasma TSH) to detect thyroid cancer. The main indications for treatment are: compression of the trachea or esophagus, progressively growing nodule, recurrent thyroid follicle, neck discomfort, cosmetic concerns and in case of toxic adenoma and toxic multinodular goiter. Thyroidectomy and radioiodine are effective therapeutic options. Thyroxine therapy is not effective. Today, ethanol injection is performed in patients with recurrent follicle
