Abstract
Objective: the purpose of this study was to determine secondary hyperparathyroidism in type 2 diabetes patients with chronic kidney disease. Methods: the study subjects included 123 type 2 diabetes participants who had unreplaced chronic kidney disease, with eGFR <60 ml/minute and urine albumin positive or negative. Results: the medium PTH level was 11.1 9.97 pmol/1, it increases gradually with the stage of chronic kidney disease. The rate of secondary hyperparathyroidism in type 2 diabetes patients with chronic kidney disease was 55.3%. The rate of secondary hyperparathyroidism in type 2 diabetes patients with CKD stage 3, 4. 5 respectively was 30.2%, 72.7%, 92.6%. Conclusions: The prevalence of secondary hyperparathyroidism in participants was overtly high. This rate increases gradually with the stage of chronic kidney disease and grows up in the patient with end stage renal disease.
