Abstract
Objective: To describe the curtent situation of and to identify some factors related to foot care for patients with diabetes by nurses at the National Endocrinology Hospital in 2022. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 246 people with diabetes and foot lesion stages 1 to 3, and nurses caring for those people on, convenience sampling and, using pre-prepared questionnaires werw used. Results: Most patients with diabetic foot lesion stage 1 were advised by the nurses on how to prevent foot ulcers, however, some counseling contents were not focused on by the nurses in advising the patients. 44% of the patients with foot corns had their foot corns cut or peeled by the nurses. 59.7% of the patients with foot dry skin had their foot dry skin taken cared by the nurses. 26.4% of the patients with abnormal toe nails had their abnormal toe nails trimmed by the nurses. 100% of patients with foot lesion stage 3 (ulcer) received nursing care for their ulcers. No relationships were found between the nurses' characteristics and the implementation of foot care for patients with diabetes.
