Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the correlation between blood cystatin C and some paraclinical indicators in patients with type 2 diabetes. The study was conducted on 132 patient diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at Outpatient Clinic for Required Services, Bach Mai Hospital from January 2016 to August 2016. The results showed that there was a strong positive correlation between cystatin C and plasma creatinine with r=0.49; negative correlation between LDL-c , glomerular filtration rate and cystatin C with r=-0.33; r=-0.31; The correlation was statistically significant with p<0.05. No correlation was found between total cholesterol; Triglycerides; HDL-C and cystatin C with p>0.05. Plasma cystatin C may reflect an increase in creatinine and cystatin C is an independent predictor of decreased glomerular filtration rate.
